Avatar (Place of Power) is a project in which a mirrored staff was photographed in a number of outdoor locations such that the sun is seen reflected back at the viewer.

The intense light appears to puncture the surface of the photograph.

The work was inspired by both Derek Jarman and Robert Smithsons' use of mirrors in the landscape, and by fantasy adventures and role-playing games.
