Häxring

Häxring is an interactive 3D environment inspired by the life and work of feminist artist Monica Sjöö. The landscape is created from a digital height-map of the enigmatic 'Silbury Hill' monument, which is surrounded by a moat in the shape of the Great Goddess. In its centre is the hill, which is covered in long blond hair and a circle of magic mushrooms, called 'haxring' in Swedish. Sjöö was born in Sweden but spent most of her life in the UK, and is regarded by many as the UK's first feminist artist. She wrote the first manifesto of feminist art, and was included in the first Womens Lib art exhibition.
